Mar 2008 Commitment of one full transponder on Arabsats BADR-6
To serve the growing demand in the Middle East and African market CETel has formally contracted with Arabsat to provide services on the upcoming Arabsat BADR-6 satellite. The satellite has a perfect coverage over Africa and will go in operation in summer 2008. CETel committed to one full transponder with the opportunity to enlarge our capacity.
Arabsat and CETel built up a strong and reliable partnership. The joint solutions comprise 1- and 2-way broadband Internet services for the Middle East and African market and a world-leading offer for dedicated connections for major communication carriers between the Middle East and Africa into the European fibre network. From their Teleport facilities in Germany CETel is able to provide satellite based communication services on Arabsat BADR-4 (Ku-Band), Arabsat 2B and Arabsat BADR-C (both C-band). In the near future CETel will offer services on the advanced Arabsat BADR-6, covering the entire African continent. Combining CETel’s knowledge with Arabsat’s expertise and excellent satellite fleet encourages both sides for a joint service and meets the growing demands of the Middle East and African market.

Mar 2008 CETel will provide iDirect services on NSS-703
CETel increases its iDirect services and is to start on SES Newskies NSS 703 satellite. Thereby CETel together with their partner company Talia is now able to serve iDirect services on a second satellite besides Arabsat BADR-4. This development meets the constantly growing customer demand in the Middle East and North African region. The service will be operated via a 6.1m antenna at the German CETel Teleport.

Feb 2008 CETel launches DVB-S2 service
Together with our strategic partner Arabsat, CETel now offers efficient DVB-S2 services on Arabsat 2B (C-Band). Due to the perfect Arabsat 2B satellite coverage this new service is designed to specifically serve CETel’s growing customers demand focused on the Gulf Region, the Middle East and African markets. DVB-S2 is the most advanced satellite transmission technique from DVB. It is a cost-effective solution for the customer with 30% greater efficiency.

Guido Neumann, Managing Director of CETel, said “We are happy to provide the new DVB-S2 service to our customers. It will enhance their process and their value proposition.
